What is Network Spinal Analysis?
Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) is a specific type of chiropractic care. It is an evidence based approach to wellness and body awareness. Gentle precise touch to the spine cues the brain to better observe the body and create new wellness promoting strategies. There is no manipulation of joints (cracking) required. Two unique healing waves develop (breath and body waves) that are associated with spontaneous release of spinal and life tensions. Care is advanced through a series of levels, each producing specific new abilities to adapt to internal and external stressors. Practitioners combine their clinical assessments of spinal refinements with patient's self assessments of wellness and life changes. Click here to read more about the Network wave.
A retrospective study of 2,181 patients in the United States and around the world, demonstrated that Network care is associated with profound life changes and statistically significant improvement in self-reported wellness areas*.
reduced pain, improved spinal flexibility, more energy, less fatigue, fewer cold and flu symptoms, fewer headaches.
emotional & psychological well being
less distress about physical pain, more positive feelings about self, decreased moodiness, fewer angry outbursts, less depression and more interest in life, fewer concerns about "small" things, concentration increased, less anxiety.
improved overall health and general well-being, ability to cope with daily problems, family and significant relationships, work.
increased openness to guidance by inner feelings, increased relaxation and well-being, positive feelings about self, interest in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, feelings of openness when relating to others, compassion for others.

NSA is a Chiropractic Technique
Network Spinal Analysis was developed by Dr Donald Epstein (Doctor of Chiropractic) in the early 1980s. Dr Epstein utilised several of the traditional chiropractic techniques, networking them into his own transcendent discipline. Network chiropractors are trained primary health care professionals, undertaking a minimum of five years of university level study to become chiropractors. On top of this they have committed to the study, practise and mastery of the unique discipline of NSA.
Chiropractic is a natural, safe, effective and drug free method of health care that enhances your overall health and wellbeing. It works by improving the flow of information through your nervous system.
Your nervous system comprises of your brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves (the nerves to your arms, legs and all your organs). It carries information about what is going on both inside and outside of your body to your brain. This is vital information and the clarity of it determines how well your body functions.
Chiropractors introduce specific impulses or adjustments to the spinal column to help clear the pathway of communication between the brain and the body allowing the nervous system to work better for you. There are many difference chiropractic techniques, each with different ways of approaching the spine and delivering an adjustment.
Chiropractic care is like getting help to clear out all the noise, tension and mess that has accumulated in your nervous system. This tension builds up as a result of a lack of energy to adapt to all the big and small stress's that you've had in your life. When life stress's (physical, chemical, mental, emotional) accumulate in our nervous system it starts to function differently. It can get stuck in a defensive state (fight-flight mode), where it continually holds tension and there is less energy available for change. The "fight-flight" mode limits your awareness of what's happening in your body and affects the quality of information travelling through your nervous system. It's ok for us to tense up temporarily when we are faced with a stressful event but living with a constantly stressed/defensive nervous system isn't a healthy state for us to be in long-term.
The good news is that our spines and nervous systems are very sensitive. This means you don't need a big force to create a big change! When a chiropractor makes an adjustment to the spine it gives the body a chance to come out of this tense, defensive state. When the communication pathway is clear of tension the brain can make better, more energised decisions for how your body works. NSA is particularly effective at helping people to come out of flight-fight mode and to process stress better.
